Trekking in the Bosco Difesa Grande of Gravina

The tour is totally dedicated to total immersion in nature, visiting theBosco Difesa Grande, with about 1890 hectares is one of the most important wooded complexes of the entire Puglia. Located 6 km from the town of Gravina, it extends over a hilly terrain between the Gravina and Basentello streams.

Since 1988 it has been a SIC (Site of Community Importance), it contains the greatest concentration of autochthonous oak species in Italy, and allows you to admire its enormous variety of animal and plant species, as well as the characteristic jazzi. You should know that among the curiosities, you can visit one of the N.A.T.O. bases set up in the early sixties during the cold war between the USA and the Soviet Union for the launch of nuclear-tipped missiles, Jupiter.
